Dine To Smile Campaign

This Christmas season, starting November, seven of Manila’s top chefs come to the aid of street children. Working with Virlanie, these leaders of the culinary arts scene in the Philippines are using their skills and influence to ensure a special Christmas for Virlanie’s children.

Joining Virlanie in its Brighten Smiles campaign are: Chef Markus of Cav, Chef Cyrille of Cicou, Chef Suzette of La Cocina de Tita Moning, Chef Florabel of Crisostomo, Felix and Florabel, Chef Sonja of Cupcakes by Sonja, Chef Jessie of Enchanté, and Chef Colin of Sala, Sala Bistro and People’s Palace.

Brighten Smiles is the Christmas campaign of the year-long Dine to Smile project of Virlanie alongside its restaurant partners. It aims to inform people about the plight of street children and encourage them to help better these children’s lives.

Different recipes, one delicious goal!

Varied menus, diverse cooking styles—every restaurant has its own specialty and inviting ambience to be proud of. But despite being “competitors” in the business, all of them willingly come together for one objective: to help feed more than 250 children in the 12 Virlanie homes.

Each time diners eat in any of the 12 participating restaurants, a percentage of the restaurants’ sales will be donated to Virlanie. Some restaurants have prepared a special menu for Virlanie. Cupcakes by Sonja, created a Peanut Butter-Nutella cupcake especially for Virlanie. The cupcakes will be on sale only from November up to December.

Every time someone orders one of the 26 souffles of Chef Jessie at Enchanté, they will donate a part of their sales.

Both Cav and La Cocina de Tita Moning will prepare a special menu for the Brighten Smiles campaign.

The Christmas Dine to Smile campaign will run from November to December 2010.

This is my personal food blog. Any review about a certain restaurant or food is based on my genuine personal opinion and preference and not influenced by anyone in anyway in cash or in kind. You don't have to take my word for it it's just a heads-up on what to expect. Try the restaurant or the food if you like. I don't impose. Bon appetite!
