Panciteria is a term used for restaurants and establishement specializing in Pinoy pansit or noodles a word that evolved from the Hokkien phrase pian sit which means something quickly cooked.
Panciteria Lido was put up in 1936 in the heart of China town in Binondo Manila by Mr. Lido, a Chinese Chef who wanted to showcase in a humble eatery an assortment of his classic Chinese favorite noodles (wanton, guisado, asado). Later on he decided to expand his menu of savory dishes and came out with a experiment recipe, a Chinese pork roast injecting it with the Filipino taste for sweetness.
This recipe is now Panciteria Lido’s Best Seller, the Pugon Roasted Asado.
Lido’s Pugon Roasted Asado priced at Php267.00 per 1/4 kilo is the only authentic Chinese asado recipe that is cooked in a brick oven you will find in the country. Its best eaten dipped in this sweet sauce.
This is also their best seller in terms of take-out and delivery orders. Yes they accept delivery with a minimum food order of Php300 and along 2kms radius from any of their stores. Panciteria Lido Cocina Tsina delivery is (632) 414-LIDO (5436) and they deliver from 10AM to 9PM.
All the dishes we tried at Panciteria Lido Cocina Tsina are all authentic Chinese and are their best sellers in all their stores.
The Drunken Lechon Macau 1/4 kilo at Php257.00 was one of my favorite among the food served to us. It was tasty and crunchy with a hint of wine. This I think is the only Chinese lechon macau I tasted with wine on it making it so special.
I super love their Poached Tofu (Php105.00). Its cooked evenly and you can immediately taste the flavor in one bite. It isn’t like any other tofu recipe I’ve tried so far. Some cook their tofu hard on the outside and soft on the core this one is soft all over but doesn’t fall-off.
For pansit lovers, Chami Special is Lido’s pride. They boast this noodle dish as their best seller of our their Pancit category since the day it was first introduced their menu. A real savory treat at Php112.00
And whats dining at an authentic Chinese restaurant without having rice. Panciteria Lido’s Fried Rice is the best parter with any of the dishes mentioned above. Mucho (good for 2-3 people) Php180.00 a cup is at Php65.00
And to wash it all out order some hot drinks after your meal. Panciteria Lido is also proud of they Syphon Brewed Coffee
At Php65.00 a cup coffee lovers will love Lido’s Syphon Brewed Coffee as it is made of Lido’s special bean blend with an exceptional aroma. This has been their customers favorite since it was introduced in 1994.
But personally this is my favorite hot drink from Panciteria Lido, their Hot Chocolate is the best. Thinking of it and how it tasted just makes me drool. I’m so craving for another cup again. Thank God they have a branch at SM Fairview I can get a cup or two tomorrow!
Their hot chocolate is so thick and rich and oh-so-chocolately. It taste like Chocolate Eh but much better. served mouth watering. At Php70.00 a cup chocolate lovers will surely feel heaven as they sip.
You can have it with milk or served as is.
